The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is developing its new Strategic Plan for the period 2027 to 2031 and is inviting members of the public to share their views through a short public survey. The Strategic Plan sets out the OAG's priorities and objectives for the next five years, and the measures by which it will judge its success. The OAG wants to ensure that the plan reflects the priorities and expectations of the people it ultimately serves.
Patrick Smith, the Auditor General, says, “We want to hear directly from the public about what matters most to them concerning accountability, good governance, use of public money, performance and service delivery in the public sector. Your feedback will help us focus our work over the next five years on the areas of greatest importance to the people of the Cayman Islands.” Mr. Smith adds, “The views we gather will directly inform the priorities and objectives we set in our new Strategic Plan.”
Mr. Smith continues, “Public input is a vital part of this process. As an independent office, our role is to help the public service spend wisely and to strengthen accountability and transparency. Hearing how the public views our work, and where they would like to see us do more, helps us remain relevant and deliver lasting value.”
The survey is open until Friday 26 June 2026 and can be completed online via the OAG’s website at www.auditorgeneral.gov.ky or through the link: Public survey link
