The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has partnered with the Miss Cayman Islands Organisation to launch an Education Ambassador Programme, under which the reigning titleholder will conduct sessions in primary and secondary schools across the Cayman Islands. The partnership runs until December 2027.

At secondary level, the ambassador will conduct small group motivational sessions with selected Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focused on goal setting, resilience, communication and personal leadership. Starting in the 2026/27 academic year, Key Stage 2 girls will benefit from etiquette workshops covering self-presentation, respect and communication skills. Students are selected in coordination with the schools’ leadership.

Reigning Miss Universe Cayman Tahiti Seymour has been appointed as the programme's inaugural ambassador. Before the end of the current academic year, she will conduct sessions at Clifton Hunter High School and John Gray High School and participate in several school leaving ceremonies. Each subsequent titleholder will serve as ambassador for the duration of her reign.

"We know that academic success is only part of what prepares a young person for the future. Confidence, communication and the ability to present yourself with purpose are skills that open doors and they are skills that can be taught. This programme brings remarkable young Caymanian women into our schools to do exactly that, at every stage of a student's development, and it does so with a commitment that extends well beyond this academic year. We are proud to launch this partnership and look forward to building on it in the years ahead,” said Hon. Rolston Anglin, Minister of Education and Training.

"Our platform is deeply committed to empowering our community and creating opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, leadership, and self-belief. We are grateful to Minister Rolston Anglin and his team for this wonderful opportunity to partner through the Education Ambassador Programme and make a meaningful impact in our schools. We are confident that our reigning Miss Universe Cayman, Tahiti Seymour and future titleholders will positively connect with and inspire the next generation of young Caymanians,” said Ms. Derri Lee, National Director, Miss Cayman Islands Organisation.

A Bodden Town native, Ms. Seymour is a poet, writer, filmmaker and environmental activist. She served as a Caribbean Youth Leader for the United Nations' Act4Food Act4Change movement and collaborated with the UN on the Zero Hunger Universe campaign, which raises awareness of food insecurity globally. She holds a degree in Politics and International Relations from Queen Mary University of London, graduating with honours, and has worked with a number of local and regional organisations including the Youth Ambassadors Programme, Protect Our Future, the Mangrove Rangers and Plastic Free Cayman.
