The Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing & Infrastructure (PLAHI), in partnership with the National Roads Authority (NRA), advises the public that construction work will officially resume on the new East-West Agricola Connector Road on Monday, 24 August 2026.
The work is expected to continue for approximately 12 weeks. To support the safe and efficient completion of the works, the following traffic restrictions will remain in effect throughout the construction period: The road will be closed to all eastbound traffic.
Westbound access for motorists travelling from Bodden Town, East End and North Side will be available on weekdays only, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Motorists should expect delays and allow additional travel time, particularly during peak hours.
The area will remain an active construction zone. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, observe the posted speed limit of 25 mph, and remain alert for construction personnel, large trucks and heavy equipment operating along the route.
Once completed, the East-West Agricola Connector Road will improve connectivity and support the long-term development of the Eastern Districts. MPLAHI and the NRA thank the public for their patience and cooperation as work progresses on this important infrastructure project.
