The CARILEC Awards of Excellence, introduced in 2026, recognises outstanding performance and achievement across the Caribbean electric utility sector, using data submitted by member utilities through CARILEC’s Benchmarking and Tariff Reports.
The Overall Best Performing Utility Award, recognises exceptional all-round performance across key operational, financial, service, safety, environmental and sustainability indicators. The award celebrates a utility that demonstrates excellence, resilience, innovation, and strong leadership in serving its customers and advancing the regional energy sector. CUC’s first place in this category demonstrates the significant effort the Company has put forward in an effort to abide by its mission: To be a leader in the growth of our community by delivering safe, reliable energy services at competitive costs, and with respect to the environment while being a model corporate citizen and providing a fair return to our shareholders.
In addition, CUC received the Service Reliability Award. This award recognizes a utility that has demonstrated outstanding performance in delivering consistent, dependable electricity service to customers. The Company’s recognition for Environmental Performance recognizes a utility demonstrating exceptional commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and responsible energy practices. CARILEC described the award as recognition of efforts to reduce environmental impact, enhance operational sustainability, and support the Caribbean’s transition to cleaner, more resilient energy systems.
