CIIPA CEO participates in IFAC Global Advisory Group Meeting in New York

Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) Chief Executive Officer Sheree Ebanks recently participated in International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Professional Accountancy Organizations Development Advisory Group (PAODAG) meetings in New York, joining global leaders in discussions aimed at strengthening professional accountancy organizations worldwide. 
The two-day meeting focussed on strategic planning within professional accountancy organizations (PAOs), including how planning is undertaken in practice, where formal tools are applied and what factors enable or limit the use of IFAC's Strategic Planning Toolkit.
Discussions also examined accessibility, scalability and interactivity considerations to ensure practical implementation across diverse jurisdictions. 
Ms. Ebanks attended the event in her capacity as the Technical Advisor to Jill Santos, a PAODAG member from the Philippines Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  
Participants engaged in wide-ranging dialogue that included reflections from IF leadership on global PAO development trends, capacity-building insights from implementation in different regional contexts, a framework for engaging early-career professionals, stakeholder management considerations across PAO environments and the future direction of IFAC's Compliance Program. The conversations will directly inform PAODAG's priorities for 2026--27 and support a future global assessment of PAO development. 
"For CIIPA, participating in PAODAG is about ensuring that the perspectives of smaller, sophisticated professional bodies operating in complex regulatory environments are reflected in global frameworks and guidance," Ms. Ebanks said. "Collaboration at this level strengthens not only individual organizations, but the profession as a whole." 
CIIPA's involvement underscores its continued commitment to regional and international engagement and to advancing high professional and regulatory standards in the Cayman Islands and beyond.
