Cayman International School (CIS) is inviting students and families from across the Cayman Islands to explore their future education opportunities at its University Fair on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, bringing representatives from more than 15 universities across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to the island.

Open to students from all schools across Cayman from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the fair will give high school students and their families the opportunity to meet university representatives, ask questions about courses and admissions, and discover the many different pathways available after high school.

Local businesses offering scholarship opportunities, including Dart, KPMG and Maples, will also be represented, helping students learn more about potential financial support for their education.

CIS is particularly pleased to be able to bring so many prestigious universities to the Cayman Islands, giving students the chance to explore international opportunities without having to travel overseas to begin those conversations. By welcoming students from every school in the community, the fair aims to make information about higher education and scholarships more accessible to young people across the island.

“Every student deserves the opportunity to explore what is possible for their future, and we are delighted to help make those opportunities more accessible here in Cayman,” said Chris Akin, Director of Cayman International School. “We are pleased to welcome so many respected universities to Cayman and our school, alongside local organisations offering scholarship opportunities. Just as importantly, we want students from every school in the Cayman Islands to feel welcome. This is about supporting young people across our community as they consider their next steps and discover opportunities they may not have known were available to them.”

The fair marks the return of an event CIS previously hosted annually or every other year, before a break of several years following COVID. The school’s High School Academic Counselors recently attended the Regional Institute of the Americas Conference in Costa Rica, reconnecting with universities that recruit students from across the region. The enthusiasm from university representatives for the fair’s return highlights the value of bringing these conversations directly to students in the Cayman Islands.

Helping students navigate the choices ahead is an important part of the support offered at CIS. High School Academic Counselor, Kelly Koeppen, works with students as they explore their academic interests, consider university options and plan for life beyond high school said, “Choosing what to do after high school can feel like a big decision, and it is important for students to understand that there is no single path to success,

“Meeting university representatives in person gives students the chance to ask questions, compare options and discover programmes or opportunities they might not otherwise have considered. With local businesses also sharing information about scholarships, the fair is a valuable opportunity for students and families to learn more about both the educational possibilities and the support that may be available to help them pursue their goals. We would encourage students from every school in the Cayman Islands to come along, explore and ask questions.”

Universities expected to attend come from across North America and the United Kingdom, including the University of Miami, Rollins College, High Point University, Lynn University, Florida Institute of Technology, McMaster University, Queen’s University and Royal Holloway University of London. The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) will also be represented, alongside other participating institutions.

Local businesses including Dart, KPMG and Maples, will be on hand to share information about scholarship opportunities, highlighting the role Cayman’s business community can play in supporting the next generation of students.

As a co-educational, college-preparatory school and an IB World School, CIS offers several high school diploma pathways and supports students in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue a range of post-secondary options. The University Fair extends that commitment beyond the school community, creating a shared opportunity for students and families across the Cayman Islands to learn, connect and plan for the future.

CIS warmly welcomes students and families from all local schools to attend, meet the visiting representatives and take the next step in exploring their future.
