The Health Services Authority (HSA) has honoured five outstanding team members with its highest staff recognition awards, naming Employees of the Year for 2023, 2024 and 2025, and Manager of the Year for 2025. The ceremony also recognised more than 30 employees who were awarded Employee of the Month or Manager of the Quarter between 2023 and 2025, celebrating the dedication, professionalism and exceptional service demonstrated across the organisation.

Award recipients were selected for their consistency in upholding the HSA's core values, making a meaningful impact, and demonstrating a sustained commitment to going above and beyond their job responsibilities. Recipients had also previously been recognised as Employee of the Month or Manager of the Quarter in their respective award-winning years, following peer nominations.

The awardees were:

Employee of the Year 2023-2025

  • Khimanie Blackwood, Clinical Business Analyst - 2023
  • Jasmine Ebanks, Appointment Clerk - 2024
  • Sherin Dilbert, Patient Referral Officer/Executive Secretary at Faith Hospital and Tamara Cohen, Medical Records Supervisor – 2025 (joint winners)

Manager of the Year for 2025

  • Marsha Eleweanya, Training and Development Manager

Chief Human Resources Officer, Ms. Samantha Bennett, noted that “each nominee and award recipient represented excellence in action, whether through exceptional patient care, dependable service, innovation, teamwork, leadership or a simple act of kindness that made a lasting difference.”

With approximately 71 years of combined service, the award recipients represent a wealth of knowledge and experience in their areas of specialisation and in advancing the HSA’s vision.

“We thank the nominees and honourees for setting a standard that inspires others, and the colleagues who took the time to nominate them. These initiatives help us to build a culture in which meaningful contributions are seen, valued and celebrated,” Bennett stated.

Highlighting the career journey of employees and the organisation’s role as a critical institution for healthcare training in the Cayman Islands, HSA’s CEO, Ms. Lizzette Yearwood, noted that “some individuals began their HSA journey as summer interns exploring whether healthcare was the career for them and now, they are being considered for Employee of the Year.”

She acknowledged the immense sacrifices staff make daily, pointing to the many ways employee commitment extends beyond the boundaries of job descriptions. Ms. Yearwood emphasised, “many of them may feel that they were simply doing their jobs. But the nominations received told a different story. They spoke of staff who went the extra mile for patients. They extended themselves, even after hours at their personal inconvenience; they sacrificed family time to support our patients, provided exceptional customer service, put the safety of our patients first, and always lent a helping hand when it was needed.”
