Police/Court
09 June 2026, 05:24 AM

On Sunday, 1 June, a 66-year-old man was formally charged with Impersonating a Doctor or Licentiate of Medicine, Attempting to Buy or Otherwise Deal in Controlled Drugs, and Buying or Otherwise Dealing in Controlled Drugs, following an investigation by the RCIPS.

The Police investigation began in December 2025 into reports that an employee of a local medical services company had allegedly purchased prescription medication, including controlled drugs, on multiple occasions while falsely representing himself as a medical doctor licensed to practice in the Cayman Islands.

Following enquiries by the police, the man was arrested. Officers also carried out a search of a vehicle that was confirmed to be driven by the suspect and recovered documents relevant to the investigation.

The man was formally charged and is scheduled to appear before the court on Tuesday, 9 June
