Just after 8:00AM on Wednesday, 3 June, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 911 Communications Centre to a report of a collision that took place at a residence off West Church Street, in the vicinity of Garston Smith Drive in West Bay. It was reported that the driver of a white SUV was driving along Scholars Drive when the vehicle veered off the roadway, hitting a pedestrian and subsequently coming to a stop after colliding with a house in the same area.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was also transported to hospital to be assessed due to the circumstances of the collision.
The driver of the vehicle was subjected to a breath test at the scene of the collision before being transported, and the results were negative.
The incident is being investigated by the police, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
Specifically, police are seeking persons in the area with Ring doorbell cameras that may have captured the incident.
