Shortly after 9:00PM on Saturday, 1 August, officers on patrol along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway came upon a single-vehicle collision in the vicinity of Lakeside Condos. A silver Toyota Mark X had been travelling southbound when it left the roadway and collided with a light pole on the median, sustaining severe damage and causing damage to the pole.
EMS attended the scene and the driver was taken for treatment for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, and subsequently discharged.
The driver was also breath-tested at the scene and subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The matter is currently under investigation.
