New workshop addition will provide deeper-dive sessions across financial and professional services
The Spectrum Financial Services Conference will introduce Spectrum+ this year, a new workshop-style addition designed to provide more focused and practical discussion on issues cutting across financial and professional services.
The first Spectrum+ event, “From Perception to Trust”, will take place on 2 October at the George Town Yacht Club, following the main Spectrum conference.
The three-hour marketing, communications and business development workshop will focus on relationship-led marketing for Cayman financial services in an increasingly AI-shaped market. It is designed for professionals responsible for reputation, growth, market positioning, client relationships and communications.
Going forward, Spectrum+ will complement the main annual conference by providing opportunities for smaller, deeper-dive sessions on topics relevant across multiple areas of the financial and professional services industry.
“Spectrum has always been about bringing different parts of the financial services industry together to discuss the issues shaping our sector,” said Spectrum founder Paul Byles. “Spectrum+ allows us to take that concept further by selecting topics that cut across several areas of the industry and exploring them in a more practical workshop format. For professionals involved in business development, marketing and communications, this first session provides significant added value alongside the main conference.”
The inaugural workshop will be led by UK-based Jasmine Kees, Partner at Stillpoint Global Advisors, alongside AI thought leader Tamsin Deasey-Weinstein; Jennifer O’Leary, Founder and Director of Mangrove Group; and Caine Smith, Founder of AirVu Media and Vice Chair of the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association.
The discussion will centre on three themes: perception, proof and AI and trust, including how Cayman is understood internationally, how firms can make their substance and expertise more visible and how AI is changing everyday work, market visibility and decision-making.
“Financial services runs on trust, but trust isn’t a messaging exercise. It is earned through the commitments a firm makes and keeps, and marketing can only make that trust visible." said Kees. “In an AI-shaped market, polished claims are easier than ever to produce, which makes credible evidence, credible people and genuine relationships more important. This workshop is about helping firms look practically at the gap between how they want to be understood and what their audiences can actually see, verify and experience.”
The programme combines expert presentations, panel discussion, audience Q&A and networking, concluding with a practical Perception-to-Trust Map that participants can use to identify a priority audience, perception gap and action to take forward over the following 90 days.
Spectrum+ is being presented in partnership with the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association, with Mangrove Group joining as a sponsor. Spaces are limited, with registration available through Spectrum.ky
