A highly successful training session, “Creating a Culture of Wellbeing and Wellness,” facilitated by respected HR and wellness expert Kim Wallace-Watler, attracted a full and engaged audience of senior educators and professionals from across the Cayman Islands.
The session welcomed primary and secondary school leaders, alongside professionals from a range of sectors, all eager to explore practical ways to embed wellbeing into their organisations. The workshop was marked by lively discussion and strong participation, reflecting both the relevance of the topic and the enthusiasm of attendees to take meaningful action.
Kim Wallace-Watler, founder of Intuitive Coaching, brought more than two decades of HR and coaching experience to the session. Her work focuses on helping organisations create people-centred cultures through a blend of HR strategy, coaching and corporate wellness initiatives.
The training provided a clear roadmap for building a sustainable culture of wellbeing, covering key concepts such as the distinction between wellbeing and wellness, the development of impactful programmes, strategies for securing leadership buy-in, and tools to measure and sustain outcomes.
Reflecting on the session, Wallace-Watler expressed her delight at the level of engagement and openness in the room, noting the importance of continued dialogue around workplace wellbeing.
She told participants: “I have a lot of people asking me the question – can we afford to do a wellness strategy? My answer is always: can you afford not to? Organisations will ultimately pay, whether proactively or retroactively. It is an investment, but one that directly impacts outcomes and long-term success.”
Attendees left with practical, actionable insights they can apply immediately within their schools and workplaces.
Villence Buchanan, Principal of Clifton Hunter High School, praised the session, stating: “I found the session to be very informative, with lots of pointers for creating a culture of wellbeing and wellness.” Emily Sintorn, Training Coordinator at the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the strong turnout and engagement: “It is incredibly encouraging to see such a high level of interest from educators and professionals across the Cayman Islands. Creating a culture of wellbeing is no longer a ‘nice to have’—it is essential for building resilient organisations and supporting people to perform at their best. We are proud to offer training that equips participants with practical tools they can implement immediately in their workplaces and classrooms.”
The strong turnout highlights a growing recognition across the Cayman Islands of the importance of prioritising wellbeing—not only for individual health, but for organisational performance, resilience and long-term success.
