UPDATE (3 July):

On Thursday morning, 2 July, officers responded to several reports of stolen vehicles, which appeared to have occurred overnight. The incidents all took place in the Windsor Park and Prospect areas, and involved Honda Civic and CR-V models. Police have engaged a coordinated response in an effort to locate the vehicles

Police believe that these vehicles are being scrapped for parts or to be refurbished as to not appear to be the outstanding stolen vehicles. They are also believed to be used by perpetrators to commit other serious crimes. As a result, police are taking a robust approach by dedicating resources specifically to locate these stolen vehicles and the persons responsible for the thefts in the coming days.

As of 1 May, 2026, police received and substantiated, 29 reports of vehicles that have been stolen, 25 of which have been recovered. The list of outstanding vehicles from this time period, including the most recent thefts, is below:

  • 1995 Blue Honda Civic, Registration # 146658
  • Grey and Brown Honda CRV – year and registration number unknown
  • 1996 Grey Honda CRV, Registration # 237548

Initial Release (22 June):

The RCIPS has noted an increase in the number of stolen vehicle reports since the beginning of June 2026 with 8 reports received over the course of the week ending 19 June. The majority of the incidents have occurred in George Town and Bodden Town, with West Bay affected as well.

Most of the offences were reported to have occurred during the early morning hours. In some incidents, the suspects appear to have gained access to the vehicles using external methods as the vehicles were reported to be secured by the owners.

Most of the reports involved models of Honda vehicles from the late 90’s and early 2000’s, and vehicles of other makes and models were reported stolen. Two of the vehicles have since been recovered by the Police, but several remain outstanding.

The RCIPS is reminding the public to ensure they take precautions against vehicle thefts, including parking in well-lit, non-secluded areas and ensuring vehicles are properly secured whenever they are unattended. Persons may also consider the use of wheel-locking tools, and are encouraged to invest in CCTV systems, for general crime prevention.
