Police have arrested wanted man Derrick Osney “Bushy” Bush following a search operation at a residence in West Bay.

The 36‑year‑old West Bay resident had been the subject of a public appeal since late November, when the RCIPS asked for help locating him.

At that time, police described Bush as about five‑foot‑eight in height, of light brown complexion, with short dark hair and brown eyes. He was wanted for failing to appear in court after being charged in relation to a serious assault incident, as well as for other offences. The public was advised not to approach him, but instead to call 9‑1‑1 with any sightings.

Officers carried out a search at a home in West Bay on Saturday, 28 February, where they located and arrested Bush. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

The RCIPS has also reminded the public that it is an offence to obstruct police by hiding a wanted person or deliberately misleading officers as they carry out their duties.
