10 August 2026, 04:45 AM

The Ministry of Education and Training is reminding unemployed Caymanians that applications for the next cohorts of the Government-funded Ready2Work programme close on Friday, 14 August 2026 at 11:59 pm.

Applications remain open for two upcoming cohorts running from 7 September to 27 November 2026 and 28 September to 18 December 2026. Eligible Caymanians are encouraged to apply before the deadline by visiting moescholarships.gov.ky and selecting the Ready2Work application from the list of available programmes.

Delivered through the Ministry's National Training and Development Unit in partnership with Inspire Cayman Training and employers across the Cayman Islands, Ready2Work is a workforce readiness initiative designed for unemployed Caymanians, individuals seeking a career change and recent graduates. The programme equips participants with the skills, confidence and workplace experience needed to secure meaningful employment. Participants receive employability training, career coaching, CV and interview preparation, workplace communication and professional skills development, along with one-on-one support, employer networking opportunities and work-based learning experiences.

The fully funded 12-week programme is offered at no cost to eligible participants. Training is delivered Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours during the first week.

Since its establishment in 2016, Ready2Work has delivered 71 cohorts, helping hundreds of Caymanians prepare for employment, explore new career opportunities and build long-term career success.

"Ready2Work is more than a training programme—it is an investment in people," said Allison Anglin, Acting Manager of the National Training & Development Unit. "We encourage anyone who is considering the programme to apply now and take advantage of this opportunity to gain the skills, confidence and support needed to succeed in today's workforce."

Eligible applicants must be Caymanians who are unemployed, at least 17 years of age, and registered with Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC), or have submitted a WORC registration application before applying to the programme.

Individuals who may require additional support, including childcare assistance, are encouraged to contact the Ready2Work team to discuss the assistance available.
