The Cayman Islands sent a large delegation to ReFocus 2026, a major annual conference for senior-level life insurance and reinsurance executives, hosted by the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) and the Society of Actuaries (SOA). Cayman's broad delegation engaged with US market leaders across the life and annuity reinsurance sector, reinforcing the jurisdiction's position as a growing and well-regulated reinsurance hub with deep ties to North America.

More than 40 professionals from the Cayman Islands attended the conference in Las Vegas, including representatives from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), with Cayman Finance sponsoring the event alongside the Cayman International Reinsurance Companies Association (CIRCA), the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), and Dart.

The ReFocus engagement is part of Cayman's North American outreach, which has included participation in major industry conferences and regulatory meetings in the United States and Canada involving Cayman Finance alongside the Cayman Islands Government, CIMA, IMAC, CIRCA, and member firms. This approach helps ensure decision-makers across the US are aware of Cayman's, sector expertise, comprehensive regulatory standards, and responsiveness to market needs.

The delegation also encouraged industry leaders to continue these discussions in the Cayman Islands at ReConnect 2026, CIRCA's reinsurance conference in April 2026. The conference provides a dedicated forum for market insight, relationship-building, and strategic discussions on the future of the sector.

Brittany MacVicar, Associate Director for Insurance and Reinsurance at Cayman Finance, said: "ReFocus is an important event for Cayman's reinsurance industry to engage directly with the US market, regulators, and industry peers. This year's strong Cayman presence reflects the continued growth of our captive and reinsurance sectors and the value of presenting a unified Cayman message to showcase the jurisdiction's technical expertise, high regulatory standards and our ability to adapt to the dynamic landscape of risk management."

Connor Kearney, CIRCA Marketing Chair said: "ReFocus continues to be an important opportunity for the Cayman reinsurance community to engage with leaders from across the life and annuity market. The strong Cayman presence this year reflects the continued development of the sector and the depth of expertise supporting reinsurance activity in the jurisdiction. CIRCA was pleased to participate and contribute to the ongoing industry dialogue."

Kevin Poole, IMAC General Manager said: "For Cayman's insurance management community, ReFocus provides an important opportunity to connect with insurers, reinsurers and advisors from across the life and annuity sector. Insurance managers play a central role in supporting many of the structures operating in Cayman, and maintaining those relationships is an important part of that work."

Kristy Rivers, DART's Senior Vice President of Sales and Leasing said: "ReFocus continues to be an important gathering for leaders across the global insurance and reinsurance market. Cayman's strong presence this year reflects the continued growth of the jurisdiction's reinsurance sector and the depth of expertise supporting it. Dart was pleased to participate alongside industry partners as Cayman strengthens its position within the global reinsurance community."
