The Cayman Islands Financial Services Institute (FSI) has been recognised as an Accredited Provider by the Continuing Professional Development Standards Office following a formal assessment of its professional training programmes.
The accreditation means professionals completing eligible FSI courses can now receive CPD certificates for accredited learning activities in areas including anti-money laundering, financial crime risk management, corporate governance and the Cayman Islands regulatory framework.
FSI is also authorised to display the CPD Standards Office’s official Accredited Provider badge and will be listed in the organisation’s CPD Directory.
FSI Director Paul Byles said the accreditation represents an important step in the continued development of the institute as a provider of professional education in the Cayman Islands.
“Our focus has always been on providing practical, Cayman-specific training that helps professionals understand and apply the regulatory requirements relevant to their roles,” Byles said. “This accreditation provides independent recognition of the quality and structure of our professional development courses.”
FSI’s online courses are designed specifically for professionals working within Cayman’s financial services industry. Course content includes Cayman Islands Monetary Authority rules and statements of guidance, as well as the responsibilities associated with different regulated roles across the sector.
The online format provides flexibility for working professionals to complete training around their existing responsibilities, while maintaining a focus on the practical application of Cayman’s regulatory requirements.
The accreditation expands FSI’s existing professional development offering, which includes diploma programmes, seminars and other training. The institute is also registered with the Cayman Islands Education Council as a Post-Compulsory Educational Institution.
Byles said recognised continuing professional development is becoming increasingly important as financial services professionals seek to keep pace with regulatory developments and demonstrate completion of relevant training.
FSI plans to continue expanding its portfolio of accredited online courses across key areas of financial services regulation and professional practice.
