Premier the Hon. André Ebanks MP will attend the Overseas Territories Caribbean Caucus in Bermuda this week, in preparation for this year’s UK Joint Ministerial Council, scheduled for November.
“Although the Overseas Territories (OT) leaders are frequently in contact with each other, periodically coming together for face-to-face discussions deepens our shared understanding of the issues and opportunities that we are managing, both mutually and individually,” he said.
The Caribbean Caucus is the unique forum in which OT leaders coordinate positions, exchange experiences on shared policy challenges, and agree common approaches.
In addition to Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, attending are leaders from Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Discussions will include participation in international fora and regional organisations; health and social care; impacts of climate change; and financial services/trade and economic partnerships.
