Education
28 August 2026, 04:56 AM

Fifteen participants of Passport2Success (P2S) Cohort 41 graduated from the employment training and personal development programme at a ceremony held at the George Town Yacht Club on 24 August.

Throughout the programme, the participants strengthened their customer service, teamwork, communication and presentation skills, while developing the confidence and professionalism needed to navigate the workplace and pursue their future career goals.

“This programme was launched to fill a gap in the transition of young people from compulsory school to the world of work. Every young person should go through a programme like this. This is a part of their journey, and they are encouraged to continue investing in themselves to become the best possible versions of themselves. Take the important lessons that Passport2Success has taught and carry them forward on the next chapter of your journey,” said Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Rolston Anglin.

Dr. Shannon Seymour, Director of The Wellness Centre, highlighted the importance of the programme, reflecting on her experience as one of the greatest privileges of being able to interact with, support, and get to know each of the participants.

“Their energy, creativity and motivation inspire me to work harder every day to make sure that the Cayman Islands is a place where doors are wide open and where there are great opportunities along the way. This marks more than just the completion of a summer programme. It represents something bigger, a decision made by young people to give up their summer vacation to learn new skills, meet new people, try new things that may have scared them, and prepare themselves for the world of work they are about to embark on. Today, we celebrate how far they have come and look forward to where they are going next,” said Dr. Seymour.

During the ceremony, graduates received certificates, while outstanding participants were recognised with awards for their commitment and dedication to the programme, including the Perfect Attendance Award, the Peer Choice Award, and the Most Outstanding Female and Male Awards.

Passport2Success is run by the Ministry of Education & Training through its National Training and Development Unit, in partnership with The Wellness Centre.
