Grand Cayman, October 9, 2026 - The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) has announced that its 2026 Black-Tie Gala & Scholarship Fundraiser, held on September 12 at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, raised US$35,000 in support of the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund (ESF).
The Gala brought together Cayman’s captive insurance and wider financial services community for a shared purpose: investing in the next generation of Caymanian talent. The funds raised will help create opportunities for local students to pursue higher education abroad and take meaningful steps towards achieving their academic and professional ambitions.
“The continued generosity of our industry and wider community is what makes initiatives like the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund possible,” said James Trundle, Chair of IMAC. “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s Gala. Their support helps us continue opening doors for young Caymanians, giving them the opportunity to pursue their educational goals and build successful futures.”
A highlight of the evening was the featured address delivered by former IMAC scholarship recipient Vanessa Burke, who shared her personal journey and the role the Scholarship Fund has played in her educational and professional development. Her story offered a powerful reminder of the Fund’s lasting impact, demonstrating how investing in education can create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
These reflections underscored the broader impact of the Fund, which has awarded more than US$5 million in scholarships and supported over 90 Caymanian students in pursuing higher education since its establishment in 1994.
The continued commitment of industry partners remains instrumental to the Fund’s success, with RSM Cayman returning as Title Sponsor of the 2026 Gala. Further demonstrating its dedication to supporting Caymanian education, RSM has also confirmed a renewed three-year sponsorship commitment, reinforcing its long-term partnership with IMAC and its investment in the next generation of local talent.
“Education has the power to open doors and create opportunities that can last a lifetime,” said Richard Wainwright, Partner at RSM. “Supporting the Educational Scholarship Fund is an investment in Cayman’s future, helping young people pursue their goals, unlock their potential, and contribute meaningfully to our community. We are proud to continue our partnership with IMAC and support an initiative that creates lasting, positive impact for Cayman’s next generation.”
Additional sponsorship was provided by Artex Risk Solutions, Campbells and Honigman LLP.
