Young people who participated in this year's Cayman Athletic Sports Club (CASC) Community Football Camp benefited from the continued support of Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, which sponsored camp shirts, footballs, bags and the annual Camper of the Week Award in memory of the late Winston Chung Fah.

Now an annual feature of the free community camp, the Camper of the Week Award recognised a participant who demonstrated exceptional character, leadership, sportsmanship and commitment throughout the week, complementing a range of age group and achievement awards presented to campers during the closing ceremony.

Held from 13 to 17 July 2026, the CASC Community Football Camp provided approximately 150 children aged 6 to 16 with football coaching, mentorship, life skills development and nutritious meals, offering a positive and supportive environment during the summer holidays.

"Football has the power to change lives, but it takes committed community partners to make those opportunities possible,” says Antwan "Chico" Seymour, President of the Cayman Athletic Sports Club. “The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman has once again demonstrated what true community leadership looks like by investing in our young people. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and look forward to continuing this journey together as we build a stronger future for Cayman football."

Among the camp's awards, the Camper of the Week Award honours the legacy of Winston Chung Fah, whose lifelong commitment to youth football and mentoring helped shape generations of Caymanian players. The award recognises the camper who best reflected the qualities for which Coach Chung Fah was widely respected, including integrity, humility, teamwork, discipline and respect.

"The Camper of the Week Award recognises much more than sporting ability," said Dale Crowley, President of Rotary Club of Grand Cayman. "It celebrates the values that Winston Chung Fah championed throughout his life, including respect, perseverance, leadership and Service Above Self. We are proud to continue supporting CASC and recognising young people who demonstrate those qualities both on and off the field."

The club's support of the camp reflects a shared commitment with CASC to investing in young people through sport, mentorship and positive community engagement. By helping provide equipment, camp essentials and recognition for outstanding achievement, the partnership contributes to an experience that builds confidence, develops character and celebrates personal growth alongside athletic success.

Rotary Club of Grand Cayman congratulates this year's Camper of the Week recipient, as well as every camper, coach and volunteer who contributed to another successful Community Football Camp.
