AMRL Cayman has announced the appointment of Stephen Leontsinis as Partner, Head of Corporate Disputes, Insolvency & Restructuring, marking a significant milestone in the firm's evolution and the launch of a major new service offering.
Widely regarded as one of the Cayman Islands' leading disputes and insolvency practitioners, Stephen brings more than 20 years of international experience advising liquidators, creditors, shareholders, financial institutions and multinational businesses on complex commercial litigation, insolvency, restructuring, asset recovery and cross-border fraud matters. His arrival signals AMRL's commitment to building a high-calibre disputes practice capable of supporting clients through some of the most complex and challenging situations they face.
The launch of the Corporate Disputes, Insolvency & Restructuring practice represents a natural next step in AMRL's growth strategy. Having established a strong reputation advising clients on maritime, corporate, banking and finance matters, the firm is expanding its capabilities to meet increasing demand for specialist contentious and restructuring expertise in the Cayman Islands and across international markets.
Stephen will lead the development of the practice alongside recently appointed Senior Associate Kirsten Bailey and Practice Manager Tiffany Turrell, creating a strong foundation for the firm's newest service line. Together, the team brings significant experience across commercial disputes, insolvency, restructuring, asset tracing and complex cross-border matters.
Peter de Vere, Managing Director of AMRL Cayman, said:
"Stephen's appointment is a transformational moment for our firm. He is one of the most respected practitioners in the Cayman Islands market and brings an exceptional combination of technical expertise, commercial judgement and leadership experience. This is far more than a senior hire; it represents the launch of a strategically important practice area and a significant investment in the future growth of AMRL."
Commenting on his appointment, Stephen Leontsinis said:
"AMRL has established a strong reputation in the market and a clear vision for the future. The opportunity to build a dedicated Corporate Disputes, Insolvency & Restructuring practice within an entrepreneurial and growing firm was extremely compelling.
There is significant demand for responsive, commercially focused advice in contentious and distressed situations. I am excited to be joining the team at this stage of its journey and look forward to building a practice that delivers exceptional results for clients."
Stephen is consistently recognised by leading legal directories, including Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, for his expertise in complex disputes, insolvency and restructuring matters.
