A man, who was receiving medical treatment for serious injuries following a wounding incident on North West Point Road in West Bay, on Wednesday, 20 May, has died.
The matter remains under investigation by police.
One man who had been arrested and bailed for wounding was re-arrested for murder this morning, 23 May, and remains in police custody in relation to this incident.
The Police are appealing for any witnesses to suspicious events near the Cayman Turtle Centre and the Tortuga Rum Distillery on North West Point Road in West Bay at approximately 12 noon on Wednesday, 20 May, to contact the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.

Initial Release: Man Arrested Following Wounding Incident in West Bay, 21 May
Shortly before 12:30PM on Wednesday, 20 May, officers responded to a report of a wounding incident on North West Point Road, West Bay, in the vicinity of the Cayman Turtle Centre. It was reported that two men were involved in an altercation, where one of the men received stab wounds to his abdomen, head and neck, as well as an injury to his leg. The man was transported to hospital via ambulance, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
One man, age 47 residing in George Town, was arrested on suspicion of wounding. He was also transported to hospital for treatment for what appeared to be minor injuries, and subsequently released into police custody.
The matter remains under investigation.
