Cayman Islands Men’s U-17 National Team preps for Concacaf Qualifiers

The Cayman Islands Men’s Under-17 National Team opens its campaign in the 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers beginning Friday, Feb. 6, with all three of its Group G matches scheduled at FCRF Federation Field, in San Rafael de Alajuela, Costa Rica. Cayman was drawn into Group G along with Aruba, Canada and Jamaica. Cayman’s group schedule features: • Canada vs. Cayman Islands | Friday, Feb. 6 | 3 p.m. • Cayman Islands vs. Jamaica | Sunday, Feb. 8 | Noon • Aruba vs. Cayman Islands | Wednesday, Feb. 11 | Noon “This is an important moment for this group of players and for our youth development pathway,” head coach Ian Lindo said. “We’re heading into a very competitive group, but the focus is on preparation, discipline and giving a good account of ourselves against strong opposition. These matches are a key part of the players’ growth, and we’re looking forward to the challenge of competing on the Concacaf stage and representing the Cayman Islands with pride.” This tournament marks the first phase of qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Twenty players were selected for the national team, including: Ajani Osborne Derek Sanchez Izaiah Willis Jon-Marc Thomas Levi Jack Ra ‘Jon Boothe Charles Morrison Dylan – Powell Bonilla Jairon McCoy Josiah Campbell Nacir Smith Thomas Rees Cooper Nelson Isaiah McKain Jhaiyre Willis Kymani Parsons Quinn Small Wilfred Galeano Sevilla William Kirksey Zephon Ebanks The qualifiers run from Feb. 3–12 and feature 34 Concacaf member associations competing in eight groups, with each team playing the others in its group once in round-robin play. At the conclusion of group matches, the eight group winners will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup. The 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers follow the same format introduced in the previous edition of the tournament, ensuring consistent and competitive pathways for youth players across the confederation.
